Confirming the rich tradition of the philanthropic perception of her illustrious ancestors like (Late) Raja Sir Annamalai Chettiar, her keen interest and sense of dedication to promote the cause of education is well manifested by the establishment of schools like Chettinad Vidyalaya, Chettinad Vidyashram and Kumararani Meena Muthiah Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kumararajah Muthiah Higher Secondary School, Kumararajah School of Arts & Craft.

Kumararani realised that the advancement of science and technology not only made the society progressive but very competitive. For that, the education has to be purposeful, relevant and valuable. Keeping in mind the changing scenario, she changed the status of the college into a co-ed., institution in 2001. Affiliated to the University of Madras, the college offers, 9 under graduate and 4 post graduate courses. Inspite of being nascent, the college has gone a step forward by going in for accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2005.
